Barbara White
May 7, 1929 - December 26, 2020
Barbara White (Jones) born in Zephyrhills, Florida on May 7, 1929. She was immediately placed in an orphanage where she remained until her teenage years. Over the years she was placed with multiple families to take of their children. She transitioned to Ohio in the late 1950s where she worked at Joseph Feiss, a clothing manufacturer. The adversity she faced in her younger years shaped her to be the kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother we were honored to have. Barbara married the love of her live Kenneth J. White on September 23, 1961 and the two were married for 53 years before his passing on February 24, 2015. She was a devoted mother to Allison Ussai (Joe) and the beloved grandmother and best friend of Cassidy Ussai (Dave Degutis). Barb had a special love for all children especially the children she took care of over the years. However, there were very special children who became part of her forever family, Chris and Jimmy Soblesky-both deceased), Becky Ardo-Brazie (Steve Brazie), and Matthew Ardo (Stephanie). She was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. White, infant daughter Kelly Ann, brother-in-law Daniel White, sisters-in-law Ginger White and Lois White. Barb passed away peacefully on December 26, 2020 at her residence at Heartland of Mentor from complications related to COVID. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Heartland of Mentor who provided much love and care to both “Barbie” and as they called her and to her family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date once COVID restrictions have been lifted.
