John S. Daubenspeck

John S. "Slap" Daubenspeck, age 68, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on February 3, 2021 at home. John was born on December 24, 1952 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on Ramey U.S. Airforce base to John and Mary Daubenspeck (both deceased). He is survived by loving wife of 30 years, Lisa A. Daubenspeck (Burnett), his children, Danielle (Eric) Dutton, and John Lee (Desiree) Daubenspeck, his grandchildren, Johnathan and Owen Daubenspeck, his sister, Joyce Irwin, and his brother, Tom McLaughlin. John was a well known local musician and recording artist, who played the bass. He performed with Bill Dawg and the Extraordinaires, Alan Greene Band, Coosa River Band, Phil Baron and the Bobcats, Jimmy Ley, Mr. Stress, Killer Blue, Deadly Earnest and many others throughout his 57 year music career. John proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He touched so many hearts. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. John will be greatly missed.
