John Clark Drum

SFC John C. Drum, age 53, passed away on May 1, 2022 unexpectedly at his home. John was born on September 19, 1968 in Painesville, OH to Walter and Clara Drum (Clark) (both deceased). John grew up in Mentor, was a Mentor High School 1986 graduate and played youth football. He was a SFC US Army Veteran, who retired after serving honorably for 26 1/2 years. He served in all three Gulf Wars, and was stationed in Panama, Korea, Afghanistan and Somalia. John had numerous awards and accommodations, including a Bronze Star with Valor. He was a corrections officer at the Cuyahoga County Jail. He was a good guy that kept the bad guys in check. He was a bus driver for many years. He was kind to all the kids that rode on his bus. They nicknamed him, Mister John. His favorite pastime was shooting guns and playing pool. He spent a majority of time being a doting father and grandfather. He lived a full life of service to others. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, who will be missed. He is survived by loving his daughter, Karey (Jesse Dengate) Drum, his grandchildren, Ashley, Aubree, and Ivey, his siblings, Carl (Patti) Drum and Rosemary (Jeffry) Johnson, his nieces and nephews, Nathaniel Johnson and Stefanie Johnson, his great niece, Amylia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Drum. John's visitaiton will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations. Funeral services for John Drum will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, Ohio Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio
