Ronja Alexandra Holle

Ronja Leopold Holle of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, ascended to the Lord on the morning of December 2, 2014 at Case Medical Center while surrounded by her miracle boys, her steadfastly loving husband, her talented brother, her loving parents and friends. Ronja did not live her life for herself. She battled cancer as a youth valiantly beating it to a pulp. In round two, a different cancer used a sucker punch, but not before she gave her all. Through the nasty green drink to the numerous pills that she took daily, Ronja remembered the important things in life. She raised her two sons safely towards adulthood, instilling her words of wisdom along the way. "Girls are evil" she would tell Will and John, encouraging them to keep their focus on school and family. She would tell them "badminton is a great sport!" Football might hurt her precious sons. To her husband, who she lovingly called "my bean," she would say, "here hunny" while handing him her "leash" or "Kevin Joseph Holle, get over here and kiss me!" Her men were her life. But so were her parents and her brother. Alex, always there - right with her. Her bilingual talks to Alex and her parents were unintelligible to those of us cursed with only monolingual skills in English. Her love for her parents and brother was totally transparent and extensive. She often said, "Ich liebe meine Kinder, Mann, Eltern, Geschwister und Freunde." For those who were blessed to have Ronja as a friend, there are not enough words to describe her. . . Runs Drunk Barefoot in the Snow might be her Native American name, or Drives on Ice in Circles. Her real essence, however, was private, honest, steadfast, tough, with a little bit of biting sarcasm, wickedly funny, selfishly loving and protective of her close friends. She did not go softly into this good night; she hung on by her nails and did not live her life as a journey to her grave with the intention of arriving in a pristine well preserved body, she skidded in sideways, clinging to the persons she loved most while holding chocolate in one hand, a frozen margarita with nugget ice in the other, her body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride boys – live, love deeply, and know that I love you bigger than the universe with no beginning and no end!" A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday Dec. 6, 2014 at 11 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, Chagrin Falls Visitation will be on Friday from 2 to 8 pm at the St. John Funeral Home, 16381 Chillicothe, Chagrin Falls, Ohio Services arranged by Jane Monreal, Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
