We take great pride in serving our community and consider it an honor to have been entrusted with such a sacred responsibility for over a century. 1892
Monreal Funeral Home has been a comforting presence in Northeast Ohio since way back in 1892! It all began with Joseph Monreal, who originally offered furniture and funeral services under one roof. Seeing a growing need in the community, he decided to fully dedicate himself to serving grieving families during difficult times.
1917
By 1917, Monreal Funeral Home transitioned to a beautiful, dedicated space on 110th and St. Clair. This move showcased our commitment to creating a comforting environment for grieving families.
1936
Our journey continued to flourish! In 1936, we expanded to serve more families by opening another location on 151st and Euclid, followed by Willowick in 1957. It was during this Willowick chapter that the reins were passed to the third generation, William A. Monreal Sr.
1972
In 1972, we found our forever home in Eastlake. This move allowed us to better serve the evolving needs of the community while carrying forward the comforting spirit established in our previous locations.
Present
Through it all, one thing has remained constant: our dedication to compassionate care for families in their time of need.

Lake County has always been home for Alex and Kristina. After graduating from Eastlake North HS (Alex in 2006, Kristina in 2007), fate brought them together again at the University of Cincinnati, where they both earned bachelor's degrees in 2011.
Alex pursued his Funeral Director and Embalmer Licenses at Pittsburgh Mortuary School; Kristina discovered her calling in funeral service. A dedicated team both professionally and personally, Alex and Kristina are the proud parents of two rambunctious boys.
Alex's dedication and compassion is evident in everything he does. He's a skilled Embalmer and Funeral Director, who brings a calming presence to families during difficult times. Kristina, on the other hand, excels in connecting with families. Hearing their stories and helping them plan meaningful funerals is incredibly rewarding to her.
Beyond work, they love packing up the car and taking little trips on weekend getaways to state parks, museums, and local festivals. When they are not exploring, you might find them around a campfire at a nearby campground or cheering on the boys at their sporting events. They’re big believers in giving back to the community, and volunteer whenever possible.
At the core, they’re both compassionate people who care deeply about this industry and believe in educating families about their options and guiding them through the funeral process with understanding and respect.
