Bertha Broadwater

Bertha Marie Ann Broadwater, affectionately known to her cherished family as "Mummum," was called to Heaven on July 12, 2025, from Chardon, Ohio, at the age of 80. Born on September 15, 1944, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, Bertha's life was a testament to enduring love, dedication, and the beautiful melodies she shared with the world. In 1972, Bertha moved her family to Ohio, where she embarked on a remarkable career, dedicating 35 years of service at Lakewest Hospital and TJ Maxx before her well-deserved retirement at the age of 74. Bertha embraced life with enthusiasm. She loved to travel, often finding joy and relaxation in her frequent visits to the sun-kissed shores of Hawaii and the magical world of Disney. Fridays were a special time, spent meeting friends for dinner at Golden Girls, sharing laughter and camaraderie. Bertha possessed an absolutely beautiful singing voice, gracing Ponderosa Park with her talent and often earning comparisons to the legendary Patsy Cline. To the world, she was Bertha; to her family, she was the irreplaceable Mummum. Her family was her entire life, and she, in turn, was the loving glue that held them all together. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, her presence will be missed tremendously by so many. Bertha is survived by her loving children: DeAnna, Kim, Larry Jr., and Chad (Janine). She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Craig. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her many grandchildren: Kristen, Jamee, Thomas, Michael, Nicholas, Richard, Amanda, Amee, Kelly, Saraya, Justin, Brandi, and Brandon. Bertha was preceded in death by her grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas, and Angel. Her spirit lives on through her great-grandchildren: Austin, Jayden, Landyn, Ashlyn, Brooklyn, Heavayn, Bryson, Deveen, Shylinn, Brayden, Rayne, Taylen, Justin, Ryan, Krista, Richard, Zachary, Tyler, Cameron, Collin, Apollo, Johnathan, Tyler, Matthew, Adrianna, Evan, Alivia, Sebastian, and Paisley. She was preceded in death by her great-grandchild, Mariah. Bertha also leaves behind her great-great-grandchildren, Elijah and Melody. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Thomas, and her siblings, Elizabeth, Anna Mae, and Thomas. Bertha's boundless love and melodious spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Friends and family to gather on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 12pm till 2pm at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake. A Funeral Service will follow at 2pm also at the funeral home.
