Donnie Lee Lucas

Donnie Lee Lucas, 30, of Old Brooklyn formerly of Willowick and Euclid, passed away on April 3, 2017. He was born on April 17, 1986 to his parents Laurabeth (Steve) Gresham (nee Maurus) and Doug Lucas. Donnie’s charm and sense of humor left lasting impressions on all the lives he touched. He was passionate about his profession as an Electrician. He grew up surrounded by the love of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a father, son, grandson, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed. Donnie was taken too early from us, on April 3rd, we lost our son to a Heroin Overdose. He will be missed dearly everyday his passing is heartbreaking which is why we want people to be aware that the Heroin Epidemic has consumed so many like our beloved son, Donnie. With this obituary we hope to raise awareness on Addiction. May you rest in peace, Donnie. “May your soul Rest In Peace, Donnie. You didn't see that smile too often. The worst pain as a parent has to be losing a child. His father found him early yesterday lifeless after he took his last dose of heroin. There are no words for the pain that his parents are going through right now. His struggle was real: it was deep and it was very long lasting. His parents got him the help he needed many times, but the heroin was just too powerful for him. As hard as it is to see his passing, I do find some comfort knowing now he found the happiness and peace he's been longing for. May he rest peacefully in Heaven. May he find himself smiling more often. May he be free from pain. May his death help others from this deadly addiction. This is everywhere, and it's so heartbreaking and out of control. Yesterday morning I got the phone call and it hit close to home. It broke my heart to hear this awful news. He's gone way too soon. There are no words for how very sorry I am.” written by his cousin. Donnie is survived by his daughter, Addison, his grandmother Clara Maurus, his uncle, Mark Maurus, his aunt, Anne Grenon, and his cousins Stacey, Eric, Kristin and Autumn. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Don Maurus, Emma and Lee Lucas. Visitation will be on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 4 to 7pm at at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7pm. Family and friends are invited to a remembrance luncheon on Saturday, April 8, 2017, 2 pm at the Nite & Day Club, 35403 Euclid Ave., Willoughby Donations may be made to Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, to help the family.
