Elizabeth Ann Goodrich (nee Moran)

ELIZABETH ANN GOODRICH (nee MORAN), passed away on January 17, 2026 at the age of 104. She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Goodrich; her daughter Marilyn Goodrich Stefancic (Richard); her sons George G. Goodrich (Elaina) and Ted Goodrich (Cheryl); her parents, Dominic and Mary Moran; her siblings Carr, Mike, Ted, William aka Pat, Joe, Rose, Mary, and Mary Jane; grandson Timothy; and son in law Marc Earick. She is survived by her son Michael; daughters Susan Earick (Tom Arnone, partner) and Carolyn; grandchildren Grant (Carina), Wendy Morales (J Paul), Joe (Rosanna), Andy (Lisa), Laura Kennedy (Tyler), Christopher, Jessica Santos (Andre), Jon Earick, and Stephanie Poss (Robert); great grandchildren Eva, Nathan, and Lucas Morales, Gabriel Goodrich, Cade Poss, and Imogen Goodrich. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Nancy Morocco (John), Edmund Flocco (Denise), Rita Flocco, Delores Sederland (Cliff), Carol Chrisman (Dick), Ted Moran (Nancy), and Cindy Gilson (Jay). Liz was born and raised in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Her parents had emigrated to the United States in the early 1900's from the hills of Southern Italy, eventually settling in Sharon. She was the eighth of nine children. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1939 to attend seamstress school. She met her future husband at that time and they were married in 1940. They had three children, George, Marilyn and Ted before George enlisted in the Marine Corps in April 1944 and served in the Marine Air Wing in the South Pacific front until May 1945. She lived in the Euclid Park district in Cleveland until 1982, except for four years living in Geneva, Ohio with her sister-in-law and husband on their 150 acre dairy farm while her husband recovered from a heart attack after World War II. She moved to Willowick in 1982, where she resided until moving to assisted living at Brookdale Gardens of Westlake in 2023. In 1952, the family, which now included newborn Michael, moved back to the Euclid Park neighborhood on the east side of Cleveland. She had two more children - Susan and Carolyn. Her husband George died in 1973. Subsequently; she worked as a secretary in the shipping department at Anchor Industries Inc. in Cleveland, until her retirement at age 68, while at the same time learned to drive for the very first time of her life. After retirement, Liz volunteered at St Mary Magdalene School in Willowick, assisting kindergarten teachers. Liz also ushered 11:00am Sunday Mass at St. Mary Magdalene until she was well into her 90s. She also served on the board of the neighborhood homeowner's association into her late 90s. Liz was an accomplished seamstress for those many years. She also was an excellent cook and baker, having attended cake decorating classes in the 1960's. She made and decorated tiered wedding cakes for her children's and a neighbor's weddings. Up until her 100th birthday, holiday dinners were always at her home; she prepared an unmatched Italian spread for the whole family to enjoy. Liz continued to cook and bake picking up new ideas from the cooking channel. She loved gardening and especially her flowers and roses. Liz canned her own tomatoes and peppers for years. She loved to go for long car rides especially along the lake, visiting her family in Sharon, PA, casinos, watching the yearly show of the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds; watching games shows, the History Channel and cooking channel. Liz always had a smile on her face and she never left the house without her lipstick on. She will truly be missed by many. Friends will be received on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm and Friday, January 23, 2026 from 9:30am - 10:30am at Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, Ohio 44095. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Mary Magdalene Church 32114 Vine Street, Willowick, Ohio 44095. Private Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon. The family ask that any donation be made in memory of Liz, to the Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland or the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
