Frances E. Schmidt

Frances E. Schmidt, age 80, of Highland Heights formerly of Eastlake, passed away surrounded by her family on November 12, 2015. She was born in Rochester, NY, on October 27, 1935. Fran will be deeply missed and well-remembered by those who knew and loved her. She always enjoyed putting together challenging puzzles and absolutely loved scratch-off lottery tickets. In addition, Fran was a Facebook "junkie". For the past several years, Fran fought a valiant battle against cancer while sustaining her spirit, humor and emotional generosity until her passing. She taught us profound lessons about appreciating the little things, living each day intentionally and lovingly. Fran will always be remembered for her love of celebrating the Holidays, especially Christmas with the deep intention that all of us will continue the traditions as a family. No one ever left her house with an empty belly, without getting a great big hug and most importantly without hearing her say, "I love you, angel!" Fran was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and dear friend to many. Fran is survived by her children Laura Shutts Jeff, Robert Joan Schmidt, Susan Mike Wallace and Michelle John Brownlee, her grandchildren Jennifer Joe Simcic, Sarah Weber, Katie Srnovrsnik, Andrew Srnovrsnik Caty, Alex Kristina Srnovrsnik, Tabbitha Srnovrsnik Bobby, Cody Schmidt, Amanda Likovic Scott, Jessica Likovic Shayne, Frankie Likovic, Joey Likovic Lisa and Megan Wallace, Chris Fitz, Brandon Fitz, David Fitz Logan, Nick Fitz, John David Brownlee, Marisa Brownlee, Sammi Brownlee, Erin Brownlee, Danielle Brownlee, and Melissa Brownlee, great-grandchildren Zachary, Noah, Caleb, Logan, Alyssa, Jason, Kaiden, Landon, Madison, Jeffrey, Myah, and Makayla, deareast friend Clara Mae Hawley and many more close friends who became family. She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life and longtime companion, Mike Podboy, and former husband Robert Schmidt. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 3 to 8pm at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake. A Funeral Service will be held the following day Tuesday November 17, 2015 at 10am also at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
