Gerald Kosmerl

Gerald Kosmerl, age 91, of Willowick, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. He was born in Cleveland, OH on August 20, 1934 to the late Louis and Jennie Kosmerl. Gerald was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Kosmerl for 63 years; loving father of, Tammy Pavlik (Mike), Doug Kosmerl (Nancy), Lou Kosmerl, Laura King (Dennis), Tina House (Kim), and the late Pete Kosmerl; proud grandfather of, Kayla Doles (Nathan), Nicholas Kosmerl, Elizabeth King, Joshua King, Crystal Sillato (Brad), Anthony House (Kristen), Natalie Waite (Brady), and Keri Stricker; and a caring great-grandfather of Brianna, Bradley, Bradon, Eliana, Juliette, and Liliana; cherished brother of Ken Kosmerl (LaRue) and the late Nancy Wright; and an uncle to many. Gerald lived a life rich in experiences and a testament to hard work. After attending Collinwood High School, he embarked on a journey that saw him explore many avenues in the workforce, including plumbing, excavating, and construction. He dedicated his skills to shaping his community, constructing numerous buildings, pools, and even the Maple Park Apartments. An entrepreneur at heart, he built, established and operated Vine Pizza and Dairy Twist, OK Car Wash, Casino Pizza in Fairport, and most important to note, Sugar Bush Bar & Restaurant in Chardon where he met the love of his life, Patricia Kosmerl, on barstool 4. Each of these were a reflection of his commitment to providing quality services and experiences for those in his community. Following years of diligent labor, Gerald transitioned to a more settled role with CT Consultants, where he ultimately retired. Outside of work, Gerald was a man of faith, deeply rooted in his beliefs as a proud longtime member of Calvary Assembly of God. As a God-fearing man, he had a strong sense of community and family values. A lover of polka music, Gerald cherished his time spent at SNPJ Farm and the 4 R's Bar. In addition, travel and family vacations were some of his greatest pleasures. He took great joy in creating memories with his family that would last for generations. Gerald is going to be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, Ohio, 44095, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11:30 am in Montville Township Cemetery.
