Jane Frances Cavanaugh

Jane Frances Cavanaugh, EdD, age 84, of Wickliffe, Ohio, passed peacefully on July 18, 2025. Born on July 15, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, Jane exemplified the richness of a life lived with purpose, compassion, and an unwavering spirit of generosity that touched all who knew her.Jane is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, George Kasulones, along with her beloved stepsons Frank (Becky) Kasulones and David Kasulones. She leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren: Morgan, Lauren, Evan, and Ayden, as well as her siblings Michael Cavanaugh (Patricia), Helen Webster (Charles), and Terry Cavanaugh (Georgeanne). Jane's extended family includes a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives she enriched with her kindness and warmth. Preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Catherine Cavanaugh, and her brother Thomas Cavanaugh (Barbara), as well as her dear niece Meg Webster. An avid reader and lifelong learner, Jane dedicated nearly 20 years as the Dean of Continuing Education at Baldwin Wallace College, where she founded with others the Institute for Learning in Retirement. Her passion for education reflected her belief in the transformative power of knowledge. A proud parishioner of Ss. Robert and William Church, she cherished her faith and community. Jane was not only a member of the Western Reserve Herb Society but also an enthusiastic traveler who embraced new experiences, making friends along the way. She was a cherished friend of Bill W. for 36 years. Her remarkable life was marked by an enduring commitment to helping others.A proud graduate of Ursuline Academy, Jane continued her education at St. John College, ultimately earning her Doctorate from the University of Akron. Her academic achievements were a testament to her tenacity, intelligence, and passion for learning. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 3pm till 8pm at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake. A funeral Mass will follow on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11am at Ss. Robert and William Church, 367 E 260th St, Euclid(please meet at church). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jane's memory to Congregation of St. Joseph, 3430 Rocky River Drive, #1, Cleveland, Ohio 44111. Jane Cavanaugh's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love will inspire generations to come.
