Mary Beth Cortnik

Mary Beth Cortnik, age 64, of Mentor, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026. She was born on August 10, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Gerald and Dolores Blazetic. Mary Beth was a woman who found joy in the rhythm of life. A proud graduate of Mentor High School, she continued her education at Lakeland Community College before embarking on a life defined by her care for others. She was known for her love of music and dancing, and she was often at her happiest when she was outdoors-whether it was camping, walking, or enjoying the freedom of a motorcycle ride. Above all, Mary Beth's heart belonged to her family. Her greatest pride and joy was her grandson, Landon, but her nurturing spirit extended to everyone she knew. She shared a particularly deep and special relationship with her son, Andrew; beyond the cherished bond of mother and son, Andrew served as her devoted caregiver, providing her with steadfast support, comfort, and love throughout her journey. She had a unique gift for making people feel cared for and loved. She is now peacefully reunited with her parents, especially her mother, who was truly her best friend. Mary Beth is survived by her loving children, Andrew Cortnik and Gina Cortnik; her former spouse and dear friend, Patrick Cortnik; and her cherished grandson, Landon Cortnik. She also leaves behind her faithful "gran-dog," Dolores, who brought her much comfort. She was the dear sister of Michael (Barb) Blazetic and a loving aunt to many nieces: Angela Blazetic-Lopez (Jose), Kelsey Blazetic-Williams (Marshall), Mallory Pell (Kurt), Candice Ina (Patrick), Brianna Blazetic, Lauren Blazetic, and Renee Sanders (Dontez). Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Dolores, and her brother, David Blazetic. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of reflection and support on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake, OH 44095. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM. Mary Beth will be laid to rest at Mentor Cemetery.
