Mary Beth Gliha

Mary Beth Gliha (nee O'Neill) Mary Beth Gliha (nee O'Neill), age 67, of Euclid, peacefully passed away at Hospice of the Western Reserve on December 5, 2022, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was born in Cleveland, OH, on April 12, 1955, to the late Robert and Elizabeth O'Neill. Mary was a proud lifelong resident of Euclid and parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church at Our Lady of the Lake Parish for over 50 years. A talented vocalist, she enjoyed many years in the choir and as a lead cantor at Our Lady of the Lake. Mary led a life marked by her work for others. She retired from Euclid Hospital in 2017 after 37 years in service to patients and families. She was a committed volunteer, devoting 14 years to the Euclid Hunger Center as a board member, with her service culminating in the establishment of the Mary Gliha Resource Room. After her retirement, Mary followed in the family footsteps and became an avid (and talented) gardener. However, her service to others continued in retirement through her work at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home providing guidance and comfort to families in their time of need. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She loved and cherished her family, and she especially adored her two grandsons Jack (8) and George (5). Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and she showed each of us what grace and grit truly is in the face of adversity. Put simply, we are all better people for having had Mary Gliha in our lives. Mary is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Patrick & Carlie Gliha; grandsons Jack & George Gliha, sister and brother-in-law Judi & David Spagnola, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry & Patty Gliha, and sister-in-law, Juliann Downard & Bob Sullivan. Mary also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Robert L. Gliha (2011). Visitation will be on Thursday, December 8 from 1-3 pm & 5-8 pm at Monreal Srnick Funerals and Cremations, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 9 at 10 AM at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, 19951 Lakeshore Blvd in Euclid. Interment in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Robert & Mary Gliha Memorial Scholarship Fund at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School, 18491 Lake Shore Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44119 or to the Euclid Hunger Center, PO Box 23554, Euclid, OH 44123.
