Mary C. Vitolo

Mary Celeste Vitolo passed away on April 19, 2023 at the young age of 40. Her life cut short due to complications of liver disease. Mary was born on February 21, 1983. She was raised in Willoughby, OH while attending grade school at Immaculate Conception. She went on to graduate high school from Lake Catholic before earning an Associates Degree from Lakeland Community College. She started working in the restaurant industry at just 16 years old, and from there blossomed a lifelong career that suited Mary's infectious personality perfectly. Customers loved her. Coworkers loved her. She was the type of server that carried a long list of regulars. Guests would come see her just to have their days brightened with her smile and laugh. She had a wild and goofy personality and brought the fun with her wherever she went. It's unclear if she was destined for this personality from the start or if it was one that grew from her odd crush on Adam Sandler and all of his movies. Those who knew Mary well can confirm that she was a 'movie quoter', and loved dropping lines from all the best whacky comedies. Mary also spent quite a few years living in Chicago working in high end restaurants. While she ultimately moved back to Ohio, she carried a love for the city and all the friends she made there for the remainder of her life. Mary was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Bernadette Bart; grandparents Tony and Irene Vitolo; mother Christine Vitolo; brother Anthony Vitolo; and beautiful cat Big One. She is survived by father Scott Vitolo; siblings, Carmen, Angelo and Rosie Vitolo; and her precious furball Lil Foot. She will be deeply missed by us all, but we take solace in knowing that she is now reunited with her mother. And that is something Mary wanted more than anything. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, OH 44095. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 10am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, OH 44092. Mary will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
