Vivian C. Rowell

Vivian "Vickey" Rowell, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Vickey was born to the late John and Catherine Freeman on February 4, 1944. She will be warmly remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her generosity, and her zest for life, all of which have left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her children, Robin (Alan) Leinweber, Becky (Rick) Malinas, David (Karen) Rowell, Elida Rowell, and Ryan (Grace) Rowell, 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother, Jack Freeman and sister Katherine Seacrest-Wolf. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, David M. Rowell, daughter, Veronica Rowell, and sister Dale Freeman. Throughout her life, she dedicated much of her time volunteering at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Wickliffe Swim Team and the Senior Center. Her adventurous spirit for having fun led her to embark on unforgettable trips to Disney, Gatlinburg, casinos and the family cabin with her friends and family. She was a proud recipient of the Wickliffe Woman of the Year award in the 1980s, a testament to her unwavering commitment to serving others. She found solace and joy in tending to her beloved flowers. She delighted in playing Scrabble, cards, and backgammon, showcasing her sharp wit and competitive spirit. Her skilled hands found joy in cross-stitch and crochet, displaying her creativity and passion for crafting. In the 1960s, Vickey blazed a trail in the male-dominated IT industry as a data processor and computer programmer, showcasing her intelligence and determination. She shared a lifelong love story with her high school sweetheart, Dave, creating countless memories and a strong family bond that endured through the years. Vickey was a spirited soul, always speaking her mind with honesty and candor. She found immense joy in to spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Visitation on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 3 pm until 8 pm, and continued visitation on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 8:30 am until 9:30 am, at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curits Blvd, Eastlake. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Avenue, Wickliffe. She will be laid to rest at Mentor Cemetery.
