William Robert Stansbury

William R. Stansbury, age 87, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on January 9, 2024. Bill was born on April 29, 1936, in Cleveland, OH to the late William and Margaret Stansbury. Bill's journey in life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family. As an accomplished accountant, he diligently pursued his career, earning his Accounting Degree from Case Western Reserve University. After graduation from college, Bill met the love of his life Mickey Fulton at a CYO dance and they married in 1961 and went on to have four precious children. He was a dedicated accountant, alongside his many cherished coworkers, at Lubrizol Corporation for 31 years. Bill's true joy and fulfillment came from being an engaged and loving family man. He found immense happiness in accompanying his children, through their various pursuits and achievements. Whether coaching softball and baseball teams or cheering them on from the sidelines at swim meets, Bill was always their biggest fan. A man of simple pleasures, Bill cherished memorable Sunday drives with his family, relishing in the beauty of the world around him. One of his favorite stops was Patterson's Fruit Farm, where he could indulge in fresh apples, donuts, and, above all, their delicious pies. Bill's love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for exploring local parks and embarking on hiking adventures with his loved ones. With an infectious sense of humor, Bill had an unmatched ability to bring laughter and joy into every room he entered. His witty remarks and genuine smile endeared him to all those fortunate enough to cross his path. He was a compassionate and kind-hearted soul, always ready to extend a helping hand or a listening ear to those in need. He was a proud and devoted husband, father, poppop, great-grandfather, son, uncle, cousin, and friend, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Michaella Stansbury(nee Fulton), his children, Beth Ann (George) Nahra, Maureen Poldruhi, Scott (Carol) Stansbury and Shawn (Maria) Stansbury, his grandchildren, Michaella (Spencer) Keglovic, Bethany and Alexa Nahra, Jacob (Dana) Stansbury, Michaella Poldruhi, Colleen Poldruhi, Joshua Poldruhi and Nicholas Poldruhi, Sydney Stansbury, Samantha Stansbury, and Cecelia Stansbury, Casey and Mallory Kaminski, Gannon Stansbury, great-granddaughter, Collins Elizabeth Keglovic and cousin Linda Cliffel-Brongel. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, uncles, cousins and many loved ones. Bill and Mickey's Favorite saying: "May you always have a hand to hold" and they wish this for all their loved ones. A visitation will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, from 5 - 7 PM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake. Funeral Mass for Bill will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 10am at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a forest in Bill's name.
