Sandy was a preceded into death by her parents Susan and Max McGrody. She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, Harold, “Hal,” Hildebrecht of 60 years. Sandy was born on July 20, 1937 and grew up in Conneaut, Ohio with her sister Cindy (Sam) Mansell. Sandy was a cherished mother to 3 sons, Wayne (Eileen) Hildebrecht, Steve Hildebrecht and Bryan (Christine) Hildebrecht. Sandy met Hal while working at Towmotor, they married and raised their family, Sandy became a homemaker as her husband went on to work at Caterpillar. Sandy was the head coach of the Snoopy’s softball team, and if you were coached by Sandy, then you knew how to play the game in the end. She loved Bingo, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Indians, playing rummy with her grandchildren and the lottery. Sandy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion, Post 678 and Amaranth/Eastern star. Sandy was known as a “spitfire” to anyone she encountered, standing at 4’11 and 96 lbs on a great day, it was her Italian heritage that gave her that spark anyone who met her loved and adored her. Although not Irish, it was St. Patrick’s Day that she claimed as her favorite holiday, a day in which she loved spending with her family and friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 3 to 7pm at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake. A Funeral Service will follow at 7pm also at the funeral home.
