Thomas Burke Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thomas "Tom" Burke, age 73, of Cleveland passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on July 26, 2021. He was born in Cleveland on January 29, 1948 to the late James and Marguerite Burke. He was a cherished and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Tom proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps serving three tours during the Vietnam War. While serving his county he earned a Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V" and three Purple Hearts. Tom retired after 31 years of dedicated service from TRW Valve Division. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, shooting craps, and traveling to Las Vegas with dear friends. He also took great pride in managing his three rental properties. Tom was a friend of Bill W. and Bob for 37 years. Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, Loreen Burke (nee Yoger), daughter Rebecca M. Burke (Daniel F. Zbiegien), and brother Stephen Burke (Sandy). Tom also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Burke. Visitation will be on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 4 to 8pm at Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 10am at Ss Robert and William Parish, 367 E 260th St, Euclid. Burial to follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens.
