Pete Ventura

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pete Ventura, a pillar of strength and dedication, who departed this world on September 20, 2023, at the age of 82. Pete was born on March 23, 1941, to the late Arthur and Florence Ventura. He was raised and spent his childhood in Daisytown, PA, which he often talked of fondly. Pete led a life of service, honor, and integrity. He served as a 6th District Cleveland Police Officer and was also on the SWAT team leaving a lasting impact on his community. Having proudly served his country, Pete was a veteran of the United States Marines. Pete's memory will forever remain in the hearts of his beloved daughter, Valorie Ventura, and his sister, Christina Hufgard along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Ventura and his best friend Joan M. Spring. He also leaves behind an extended loving family including many dear friends, and his grand dogs. Beyond his professional achievements, Pete possessed a warm and caring spirit. He volunteered his time reading to individuals at Deepwood, where he became affectionately known as "Pete the Reader." He loved his luncheons with his fellow police officers, "finding a deal," taking Brian for ice cream, and watching Fox News. He valued his time at Camp Valorie, which he built by hand, where he loved hunting and fishing. A faithful member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Pete faithfully attended Saturday services. His dedication to his faith served as a guiding principle in his life and was a source of solace and comfort to him. Visitation to honor the life of Pete Ventura will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations, located at 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, Ohio 44095. Family and friends are invited to gather to pay their respects and offer condolences during this time. A Funeral Service to celebrate Pete's life will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church. Located at 32410 Willowick Dr, Willowick, OH 44095. Please meet at church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Deepwood Foundation at 8121 Deepwood Blvd, Mentor, Ohio 44060.
