Randall "Randy" Paul Hahn

Randall "Randy," Paul Hahn passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside on February 10, 2025. Born on March 19, 1948, in Palatine, Illinois, Randy was a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he earned his degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and was a proud member of the Purdue Drill Team and the Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity. Upon graduation, Randy entered the United States Navy, serving six years and attaining the rank of Lieutenant. During his service, he earned the Surface Warfare Insignia, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation. Following his military service, Randy enjoyed a successful 25-year career at Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company. His passions included computer science, cultivating bonsai trees, and building model trains, leading him to join the Lake Erie N-Scale Society and the Greater Cleveland PC Users Group, where he delighted in sharing these hobbies with fellow enthusiasts. A truly generous person with a warm spirit, Randy delighted in creating dollar bill origami that brought smiles to countless faces, especially during his frequent lunches at Panini's Bar & Grill in Willoughby. His kindness and creativity touched everyone he met. His daughter Melanie and son-in-law Jeremey affectionately called him "Daddio," sharing special evenings together over dinner and his favorite shows, J.A.G. and West Wing. Randy is survived by his daughters Michelle and Melanie (Jeremey) Ferris, brother Harvey, and sister Bonnie (David) Carter. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Kay, his parents Ernest and Ellienore Hahn, and sister-in-law Anita (Harvey) Hahn. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on February 17, 2025, at Monreal Srnick Funeral & Cremation Services in Eastlake. The funeral service will take place at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Chesterland at 10:00 a.m. on February 18, 2025. Randy will be reunited with his wife and laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Beta Sigma Psi Lutheran Fraternity (Beta Chapter) at Purdue University, 525 N University St, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
