Patricia Lee McClimans

Patrica McClimans (nee Rupnow), 83, of Eastlake, passed away peacefully on July 5th 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She is resting now with the rolling waves as we remain ashore, loving her. Born April 6, 1943, in Mayfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph Biro, Betty Caldwell (nee Richens) and Hugh Caldwell. Patty, was a passionate yachtswoman, sailing The Great Lakes and The Atlantic from Mystic Connecticut to Puerto La Cruz Venezuela; an instrumental member of Chagrin Lagoons, Lake County, and West Channel Yacht Clubs. She was fearless as she raced both power and sailboats; being the only female driver at the APBA/GLOPRA Powder Puff Race battling in high-speed, open-water conditions. Patty was the President of the Emmy Award-winning Hi Tech Productions that she co-founded with her late husband Dave. Earlier, a successful retail career, and a beautiful commercial print and lifestyle model. Her fearlessness also bled into her professional life, as she never shied away from challenging or dangerous conditions. Patty was one of few professional videographers licensed to film inside nuclear reactors and once filmed a television commercial while standing on a helicopter skid tethered. She was a proud mother to her 3 sons, Daniel Rupnow, David (Jen) Rupnow, and David (Jennifer) McClimans Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Paige, Robert, Katy, Kyle, and David III; and sister Donna (Tom) Owens. She was preceded in death by her Husband of forty years, David McClmans Sr, her daughter, Sandra Bartol, and sister Nancy (Roland) Skaggs. Patty was deeply focused, attentive, and unforgettable. In her later years, she embraced a relaxed, positive outlook. She taught the importance of living in the moment and cherishing fleeting experiences. Ultimately, her legacy is a powerful reminder to accept uncertainty, take risks, and always move forward. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Salida Woods and her primary caregiver and dearest friend, Rachel Roussey, for their unwavering compassion, patience, and exceptional care during her final years. The family will formally receive friends on Thursday July 9th 2026, from 3-7PM at Monreal Srnick Funerals and Cremations, 35400 Curtis Blvd. Eastlake, OH 44095. A Funeral Service will be held at 7pm also at the funeral home.
