Celebrating the Life of Patsy Ruth Baucco August 24, 1929 - June 28, 2026 Patsy Ruth Baucco, 96, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 24, 1929, in Jamestown, New York, Patsy was the daughter of Douglas and Margaret Sprinchorn. As the daughter of a U.S. serviceman, her childhood was one of adventure and change. She lived in New York, then Wisconsin, before her family ultimately settled in Ohio, where she spent approximately the next 75 years. Along the way, she attended three different high schools, yet her warm personality and gift for making friends wherever she went allowed her to graduate with her class. Although life took her to many places, Jamestown always held a special place in her heart. She loved reminiscing about growing up there and the wonderful times she shared with her beloved Uncle Everett and many cousins. On April 26, 1947, she married the love of her life, Valentino Baucco. Together they shared an extraordinary 72 years of marriage, building a life founded on love, hard work, devotion, and family. Patsy was the devoted mother of four children: Jerry V. Baucco (Jacqueline), James Louis Baucco and his longtime companion, Marilyn Morris (whose wife, Cindy, preceded Patsy in death in 2018), the late Valentino J. Baucco (December 12, 1952 - January 20, 2022), and Patricia S. Abernethy (née Baucco), whose husband, Richard A. Abernethy, preceded Patsy in death on September 23, 2023. She is also survived by her beloved half-sister, Judith Pollack, with whom she shared a lifelong friendship. Although Patsy was sixteen years older, Judy affectionately and jokingly called her "Mom." The two shared countless adventures together, especially on the many cruises they enjoyed as traveling companions and dear friends. Patsy also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren-Joshua, Jenna, Jessica, Justin, Jamie, Brittany, and Mackenzie; twelve beloved great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and generosity. Patsy spent many years as a waitress, a profession she truly loved. She delighted in getting to know her customers, making them feel welcome, and brightening their day with her warm smile and caring nature. She believed everyone deserved to be treated with kindness. Although she worked six evenings a week, every Monday evening belonged to her family. Week after week, year after year, she welcomed her children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends into her home for dinner. Those Monday gatherings became a treasured family tradition, filled with delicious meals, laughter, conversation, and unconditional love. Family was never simply important to Patsy-it was the center of her world. Later in life, when her daughter Patty owned an antique store for nine years, Patsy was there nearly every day. Whether helping customers, managing the books, arranging displays, or simply doing whatever needed to be done, she became an indispensable part of the business. More importantly, those years gave mother and daughter the priceless gift of spending nearly every day together, creating memories they both cherished. A gifted seamstress, Patsy created beautiful clothing, curtains, tablecloths, and countless handmade treasures for her family and home. One of her proudest accomplishments was designing and sewing her daughter's wedding gown, along with every bridesmaid's dress-a labor of love that reflected her remarkable talent and generous heart. She was an avid gardener who found joy in nurturing flowers and watching things grow. That same nurturing spirit extended to everyone around her. Family members going through difficult times always found comfort in Patsy's home, and every assortment of pets and "critters" her boys brought home-from dogs and cats to turtles, guinea pigs, and even snakes-was welcomed with love. Patsy also cherished the family's second home in Florida. She loved being close to the beach and the water, where she found peace and happiness. The home became a favorite gathering place for family, filled with holidays, celebrations, and countless treasured memories. She was kind, loving, generous, hardworking, and endlessly selfless. She nurtured not only her own family but also many relatives and friends, always offering a listening ear, a helping hand, a warm meal, or a comforting embrace. She gave of herself freely and loved without condition. True to the way she lived her life, Patsy made one final request of her family. She didn't want a formal funeral. Instead, she wanted a party-a celebration filled with family, friends, laughter, and love. Honoring her wishes, family and friends are invited to celebrate her remarkable life on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Brookwood Club, 27931 Wondegrove Drive, Euclid, Ohio 44132.
