Freddyann Bender

Freddyann Bender, age 86, of Euclid, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she so cherished. Born on July 30, 1939, in Calumet City, Illinois, to the late George and Mary June (née Sinclair) Bender, she was known affectionately to many as "Fred" or "Freddy." Freddyann was a woman of remarkable strength and character. One of her greatest personal achievements was her journey of sobriety and spent many years as a guiding light and source of strength for others on the same path. Her commitment to helping those in need left an indelible mark on her community. Beyond her service to others, Freddyann had a lifelong passion for antiquing becoming a knowledgeable collector and seller of antiques. When she wasn't "hunting" for her next great find, she loved the simple beauty of the outdoors, especially day trips and picnics along the shores of Lake Erie. She also had a great spirit for life and a rhythm that couldn't be ignored; she truly loved dancing whenever she had the chance. Above all, Freddyann was the heart and soul of her home. She was a master in the kitchen and a great hostess, known for throwing wonderful holiday parties where no one ever left hungry or without a laugh. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with those she loved most. Freddyann is survived by her children: Cheryl (James) Sharaba, Greg (Gail) Woyton, Nancy Rhodes, Judith (EJ) Trunck, Doug (Susan) Woyton, and Danny (Michelle) Woyton, along with their cherished families. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Patsy Bender, many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her faithful companion, her dog Oliver. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Woyton (Carol); her son-in-law, Kevin Rhodes; and her siblings, Susan, Faye, Daniel, and Rebecca. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of reflection and celebration on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake, OH 44095. A Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
